New Year's Eve in Dubai can cost almost nothing beyond transport and food, or several thousand dirhams per person.

The difference comes down to one decision: are you paying for access to an event, or simply going out to enjoy the atmosphere?

For 2027, cruise tickets already on sale show how wide the range can be.

Current New Year Cruise Price Range

Published 31 December 2026 packages currently include traditional cruise options from around AED 450–600 per person, while many Marina dhow and catamaran tickets sit around AED 600–900.

Higher-category cruises can move above AED 1,000, with some luxury or VIP deck tickets reaching AED 1,500–2,500 or more per guest.

These are advertised market examples as of September 2026, not fixed citywide prices. Rates can change with deck choice and availability.

Budget Option: Public Celebration

The lowest-cost approach is to use a public viewing area and pay mainly for transport, food and drinks.

Downtown has previously offered free public viewing areas around the Burj Khalifa celebrations, although access is first-come, first-served and visitors need to arrive early.

A budget for two people could look roughly like:

  • Transport: AED 50–150+
  • Food and drinks: AED 150–300+
  • Event ticket: AED 0 if using a free public area

Example couple budget: around AED 200–450+, excluding accommodation.

The catch is comfort. You may spend several hours standing or waiting and will have less control over seating and crowds.

Couple's Dinner Cruise Budget

For two adults booking an entry or mid-range New Year's Eve cruise, a realistic starting point based on current advertised packages is around AED 1,000–1,800 total before optional transfers or upgrades.

A more expensive yacht or VIP package can push the total past AED 3,000–5,000 for two.

Before comparing prices, check whether the ticket includes:

  • Entertainment
  • Deck category
  • Reserved seating
  • Transfers
  • Taxes or booking fees

A package at AED 750 isn't automatically cheaper than one at AED 850 if you later add transfers or other extras.

At AED 1,000 per person, the same group reaches AED 6,000.

For the previous Downtown NYE operation, Emaar required confirmed restaurant guests in certain areas to collect access badges in advance and recommended arriving before road closures.

Hotels add another cost but can remove the need for late-night transport. For couples or families already planning accommodation, paying more for a hotel close to the chosen celebration can sometimes simplify the overall plan.

Don't Forget Transport

Transport looks like a small item compared with an NYE ticket until demand rises after midnight.

Include money for:

  • Parking
  • Private transfer
  • Walking from the drop-off point
  • Return transport after the event

If a cruise offers an optional transfer, compare it with arranging your own ride rather than adding it automatically.

Alishba currently lists its 31 December event as a separate four-hour NYE sailing from its normal cruise, with Costa and Royale packages subject to availability rather than regular-night pricing.

Before setting the final family or group budget, check the NYE cruise details and confirm the current package price directly.

A Simple Budget Rule

Start with the event ticket first. Then add transport, food not included in the package, accommodation and a small buffer for the night.

For many visitors, the biggest saving doesn't come from choosing the absolute cheapest ticket. It comes from avoiding extras they didn't realise were missing from the advertised price.

A clear AED 800 package can be easier to budget than an AED 600 headline offer that needs several paid additions.
